Protect Victoria Park Barrambin

Also known by the Turrbal name of Barrambin, this heritage-listed park and sacred site is a place of significance including use for cultural gatherings prior to colonisation. The many beautiful trees, over 4000 recorded and mapped by Brisbane City Council in Victoria Park, are of great importance for local biodiversity. Some have a diameter of 1,200mm and are over 150 years old or more and provide a home for many inner city native animals including the squirrel glider.

The community partnered with Brisbane City Council and created a Master Plan for Victoria Park’s future. The planning process took years and significant amounts of ratepayers’ time and money were spent in the process.
